SilSila-e-Quaderia | The Prayer of ‘Tasbih’ (Rosary) / সালাতুত তাসবীহ

Since in this Prayer, a specific incantation (doa) is recited many times (300 times), this prayer is called the ‘Prayer of ‘Tasbih’ (Rosary)’.

*Blessings* : The unending rewards/blessings to be derived from the Prayer of ‘Tasbih’ has been mentioned in the Holy Hadees. Some first rate scholars have said that, hearing its virtues, none, except the indolent kind of persons will discard this.

It is narrated by Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas (RA), he said : “ One day the Kind Prophet (pbuh) said to my father, Hazrat Abbas Ibn Abdul Muttalib, ‘Oh my Uncle, what shall I give you ? Shall I not forgive you ? Shall I not give you ? Shall I not grace you ? There are 10 habits (practices), which if you do, Allah Most High shall forgive your sins. The sins of the past, of the future, old ones, new ones, intentional, unintentional, small, big, secret and manifest, all sins Allah Most High shall forgive you.’ Thereafter, he taught him the practice and method of the Prayer of Tasbih. Then he said, ‘If it is possible for you, read it once each day. And if that is not possible, then once each Friday. And if that is not possible, then once in a month. And if that is not possible, then once in a year. And if that is not possible, then at least once in your life. ’ ”

The Method of the Prayer: The method of saying the Prayer of ‘Tasbih’ has been described in Blessed Tirmizi by Hazrat Abdullah bin Mubarak as : after making the declaration of intention of four ‘rakats’ of the Prayer of ‘Tasbih’, and after saying the ‘sana’, the following incantation has to be read 15 times :

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَلَٓا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ اَكْبَر

Thereafter, after saying, ‘Aauzubillah’, ‘Bismillah’, Sura Fatiha, and any other Sura, the mentioned incantation has to be read 10 times

Thereafter, going into ‘ruku’ (standing prostration), saying the incantation of ‘ruku’ three times, the mentioned incantation must be read 10 times.

After standing up from ‘ruku’ and saying, ‘Samiallah huliman hamidah wa Rabbana Lakal Hamd’, the mentioned incantation has to be read 10 times.

Thereafter, going into ‘sijda’ (prostration), after saying the incantation of ‘sijda’ three times, the mentioned incantation must be said 10 times in the position of ‘sijda’.

Sitting up from ‘sijda’ the mentioned incantation must be said 10 times in between the two ‘sijda’s.

Going into the second ‘sijda’, and after saying the incantation of ‘sijda’, the mentioned incantation must be read again 10 times. This way, one ‘rakat’ shall be completed.

Standing for the second ‘rakat’ after lifting the head from ‘sijda’, the mentioned incantation must first be read 15 times, and then, like previously, as per the method, the second, third, and fourth ‘rakat’s must be completed. In this method, 75 times in every ‘rakat’, the mentioned incantation must be read a total of (75 x 4)=300 times.

*’Niyat’ (Declaration of Intention)*:

نَوَيْتُ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ لِلًّٰهِ تَعَالَى أَرْبَعَ رَكْعَاتِ صَلَاةِ تََّسْبِيْحِ سُنَّةَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ تَعَالٰى
مُتَوَجِّهًا اِلٰى جِهَةِ الْكَعْبَةِ الشَّرِيْفَةِ اَللهُ أكْبَر

*সালাতুত তাসবীহ*

এই সলাতে বিশেষ একটি তাসবীহ্ বেশী পরিমাণে (300 বার) পাঠ করতে হয় বিধায় এই সলাতকে সালাতুত তাসবীহ্ বলা হয়।

*ফযীলত*:- হাদীস শরীফে সালাতুত তাসবীহর অশেষ সওয়াবের কথা উল্লেখিত হয়েছে। কিছু মুহাক্কিকীন বলেছেন, এই নামাযের বুযুর্গী শুনে অলস প্রকৃতির লোক ছাড়া কেউ ছেড়ে দেয় না।

হযরত আব্দুল্লাহ ইবনে আব্বাস (রাঃ) হতে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেন, একদিন নবী করীম (সঃ) (আমার পিতা হযরত আব্বাস ইবনে আব্দুল মুত্তালিবকে বললেন, “হে আমার চাচা আমি কি আপনাকে প্রদান করবো না? আমি কি আপনাকে বখশিশ করবো না? আমি কি আপনাকে দেবো না? আমি কি আপনার প্রতি এহসান করবো না? 10 টি অভ্যাস (কাজ) আছে যদি আপনি করেন তো আল্লাহ্ তা’আলা আপনার গোনাহ্ ক্ষমা করে দেবেন। পূর্বের, পরের, পুরাতন, নতুন, ইচ্ছাকৃত, অনিচ্ছাকৃত, ছোটো, বড়, গোপন ও প্রকাশ্য সমস্ত গোনাহ্ আল্লাহ্ তা’আলা মাফ করে দেবেন।” এরপর সালাতুত তাসবীহর তরকীব ও তালীম দিলেন। অতঃপর বললেন, “যদি আপনার দ্বারা সম্ভব হয় তো প্রতিদিন একবার করে পড়ুন। আর যদি তা সম্ভব না হয় তাহলে প্রতি শুক্রবার একবার। আর তাও সম্ভব না হলে প্রত্যেক মাসে একবার। আর তাও সম্ভব না হলে বছরে একবার। আর তাও সম্ভব না হলে জীবনে একবারও আদায় করুন।

*নামাযের পদ্ধতি*:- তিরমিযী শরীফে হযরত আব্দুল্লাহ বিন মুবারক হতে সালাতুত তাসবীহ্ পড়ার নিয়ম এভাবে বর্ণিত হয়েছে যে, চার রাকআত সালাতুত তাসবীহর নিয়াত করে *সানা* পড়ার পর নিম্নোক্ত তাসবীহটি ১৫ বার পড়তে হবেঃ

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَلَٓا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ اَكْبَر

এরপর আউযুবিল্লাহ, বিসমিল্লাহ, সুরা ফাতিহা ও কোনো একটি সুরা পরার পর ১০ বার উক্ত তাসবীহটি পড়তে হবে।

এরপর রুকুতে গিয়ে রুকুর তাসবীহ্ তিনবার পড়ার পর উক্ত তাসবীহটি ১০ বার পড়তে হবে।

রুকু থেকে সামীআল্লাহু লিমান হামিদা ওয়া রব্বানা লাকাল হামদ বলে সোজা ভাবে দাঁড়িয়ে উক্ত তাসবীহটি ১০ বার পড়তে হবে।

এরপর সাজদায় গিয়ে তিনবার সাজদার তাসবীহ পড়ার পর সাজদার অবস্থায় উক্ত তাসবীহ ১০ বার পড়তে হবে।

সাজদা থেকে মাথা তুলে বসে দুই সাজদার মাঝে উক্ত তাসবীহটি ১০ বার পড়তে হবে।

দ্বিতীয় সাজদায় গিয়ে তিনবার সাজদার তাসবীহ পড়ার পর পুনরায় উক্ত তাসবীহটি ১০ বার পড়তে হবে। এইভাবে এক রাকআত পূর্ণ হলো।

সাজদা থেকে মাথা তুলে দ্বিতীয় রাকআতের জন্য দাঁড়িয়ে প্রথমে উক্ত তাসবীহটি ১৫ বার পড়ার পর পূর্বের ন্যায় যথারীতি নিয়মে দ্বিতীয়, তৃতীয় ও চতুর্থ রাকআত সম্পন্ন করতে হবে। এই নিয়মে প্রত্যেক রাকআত ৭৫ বার করে চার রাকআতে সর্বমোট (৭৫ x ৪)= ৩০০ বার উক্ত তাসবীহ পাঠ হবে।
