As in past years, this year too, the 120th annual ‘Urs’ celebrations of His Holiness Syed Murshed Ali Al Quaderi Al Baghdadi, famously known as Mawla Pak, was observed in Jora Masjid in Mednipore city and the adjoining Burial Shrine surroundings, in Dayra Pak, Mawla Pak’s residence and in Holy Istriganj, the place of his spiritual travails located on the bank of the Kasai River. The first day of the celebrations spanning two days, on the evening of the 3rd Falgun, ‘Shabina Pak’ (recitation of the entire Quran) was conducted during the whole night in the Jora Masjid and the adjoining Burial Shrine and the surrounding areas. A ‘Milad Mahfil’ was held in the same place on 4th Falgun after ‘Maghrib’ prayers. Thereafter, after the ‘Esha’ prayers, a night long ‘Waz Mahfil’ (program of religious sermons) was conducted. Various religious scholars from the country and abroad discussed the pious life of Mawla Pak, the grandeur of the Holy ‘Ahle Bayet’ and Spiritualism in Islam. Although the Holy ‘Urs’ spanned for only two days, the crowd of followers and devotees started gathering here from a week earlier from various districts of West Bengal and from far-flung places of India including Bihar and Jharkand. Many camps were erected in the areas adjacent to Jora Masjid, and the Dayra Pak neighborhoods, the Madrasa bearing Mawla Pak’s name and in Holy Istriganj and the adjoining banks of the Kasai River. The local municipality and administration extended all kinds of support.
Mawla Pak is the 32nd descendant of the Prophet of the World, His Holiness Muhammad (pbuh) and at the same time the 19th descendant of the founding spirit of the Quaderia Order, Boro Peer Shaheb, Ghausul Azam Dastagir His Holiness Syed Shah Abdul Quader Jilani (AS). In every era, a great personage from this exalted family-line conducts the duties and responsibilities of the Sufi spiritual world, who is known as the ‘Sajjadanashin’. At the present time, these programs are held under the direction and supervision of Mawla Pak’s successor – heir – grandson – ‘Sajjadanashin’ – ‘Boro Huzur Pak’ – His Holiness Syed Shah Rashid Ali Al Quaderi Al Baghdadi (AS).
This Holy ‘Urs’ is being observed from 1307, Bengali Year, 4th Falgun (1901 AD) every year after the ‘Vesal e Huq’ (Union with Allah) of Mawla Pak. Because there were numerous followers and disciples of Mawla Pak in East Bengal, from 1902 onwards, a special train laden with pilgrims started to arrive here from Rajbari District, in erstwhile East Bengal. This tradition has continued also in independent India. Aside from this special train, in the past few years, reserved buses have started to come from Dhaka and various other cities. Mawla Pak’s followers and devotees are dispersed all over the world irrespective of race or religion. This is why, this celebration becomes the meeting ground each year for the people of all countries and all religions. But this year due to the Corona pandemic the special train nor the reserved buses, nothing could come. All arrangements are being observed in a restricted environment as per government health regulations. So, together with the devotees, the people of the locality are also disheartened. A huge fair is held on account of the ‘Urs’, a boom comes to trade and business of the area ; all hotels are filled a week ahead of time. Many local residents rent their rooms. Therefore, all people hope in their hearts and pray fervently to Mawla Pak that the celebration again fills to the brim next year in a Corona free environment. May all safely reach the holy feet of Mawla Pak next year, the abode of refuge of the helpless, the sinners and the wretched.

৷৷ প্রতি বছরের মতো এ বছরও ‘মওলা পাক’- নামে খ্যাত হযরত সৈয়দ শাহ মুরশেদ আলী আলকাদেরী আল বাগদাদী পাকের ১২০ তম বার্ষিক উরস উৎসব পালিত হল মেদিনীপুর শহরের জোড়া মসজিদ ও তৎসংলগ্ন মওলা পাকের মাযার শরীফ চত্বরে, মওলা পাকের বাসস্থান দায়রা পাকে এবং তাঁর সাধনস্থল কাঁসাই নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত ইস্ত্রীগঞ্জ পাকে। দু দিন ব্যাপী এই অনুষ্ঠানের প্রথম দিন ৩ রা ফাল্গুন দিবাগত রাতে জোড়া মসজিদ ও তৎসংলগ্ন মওলা পাকের মাযার পাক চত্বরে সারা রাত্রি ধরে ‘শাবিনা পাক’- (সমগ্র কোরান শরীফ তেলাওয়াত) চলে। ৪ ই ফাল্গুন বাদ মাগরিব একই জায়গায় মিলাদ মাহফিল অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। তারপর এশার নামাজ শেষে সারা রাত্রি ব্যাপী ওয়াজ মাহফিল অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। দেশ- বিদেশের বিভিন্ন আলেম মওলা পাকের পুণ্য জীবন নিয়ে, আহলে বায়েত পাকের শান পাক নিয়ে এবং ইসলামের সুফিবাদ নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। এই উরস উৎসব দুদিনের হলেও এক সপ্তাহ আগে থেকেই পশ্চিম বঙ্গের বিভিন্ন জেলা ও বিহার, ঝাড়খণ্ড সহ ভারতবর্ষের বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত থেকে ভক্ত ও অনুরাগী দের ভীড় জমতে শুরু করে। জোড়া মসজিদ, দায়রা পাকের পার্শ্ববর্তী অঞ্চলে, মওলা পাকের নামাঙ্কিত মাদ্রাসায় এবং ইস্ত্রীগঞ্জ পাকে ও পার্শ্ববর্তী কাঁসাই নদীর তীরে অনেক গুলি ক্যাম্প করা হয়। স্থানীয় পৌরসভা ও প্রশাসন সবরকম সহযোগিতা করে থাকেন।
৷৷ মওলা পাক বিশ্বনবী হযরত মুহাম্মদ (সঃ) এঁর ৩২ তম বংশধর এবং একই সঙ্গে কাদেরিয়া তরিকার প্রাণপুরুষ বড়ো পীর সাহেব -গওসুল আযম দাস্তগীর হযরত সৈয়দ শাহ আব্দুল কাদির জিলানী (আঃ) পাকের ১৯ তম বংশধর। প্রত্যেক যুগে এই মহান বংশধারা থেকে একজন মহাপুরুষ সুফি আধ্যাত্মিক জগতের সসর্বময় দায়িত্ব ও কর্তব্য পালন করে থাকেন, যাঁকে ‘সাজ্জাদানশীন’ – বলা হয়। বর্তমানে মওলা পাকের স্থলাভিষিক্ত -উত্তরাধিকারী- প্রপৌত্র- ‘সাজ্জাদানশীন’ -‘বড়ো হুযুর পাক’ – হযরত সৈয়দ শাহ রশীদ আলী আলকাদেরী আল বাগদাদী পাকের পরিচালনায় ও তত্ত্বাবধানে এই অনুষ্ঠান গুলি পালিত হয়ে থাকে।
৷৷ ১৩০৭ বঙ্গাব্দের ৪ই ফাল্গুন(১৯০১ খ্রিস্টাব্দ) মওলা পাকের ‘বেসালে হক’- এর পর থেকেই প্রতি বছর এই উরস পাক পালিত হয়ে আসছে। পূর্ব বঙ্গে মওলা পাকের অসংখ্য ভক্ত ও মুরিদ থাকায় তৎকালীন পূর্ব বঙ্গের রাজবাড়ী জেলা থেকে একটি পুণ্যার্থী বোঝাই স্পেশাল ট্রেন ১৯০২ সাল থেকে আসতে শুরু করে। স্বাধীন ভারতেও এই ঐতিহ্য বরাবর চলে আসছে। এই স্পেশাল ট্রেন ছাড়া ও বিগত বেশ কয়েক বছর থেকে ঢাকা ও অন্যান্য শহর থেকে কয়েকটি রিজার্ভ বাসও এসে থাকে। জাতি-ধর্ম নির্বিশেষে মওলা পাকের ভক্ত ও অনুরাগী সারা বিশ্বেই ছড়ানো রয়েছে। তাই এই উৎসব প্রতি বছর সব দেশের সব ধর্মের মানুষের মিলন ক্ষেত্র হয়ে ওঠে। কিন্তু এ বছর করোনা অতিমারীর কারণে বাংলাদেশের স্পেশাল ট্রেন ও রিজার্ভ বাস কিছুই আসতে পারছেনা। সরকারি স্বাস্থ্য বিধি মেনে সবকিছুই নিয়ন্ত্রিত পরিবেশে পালিত হচ্ছে। তাই ভক্তদের সাথে সাথে এলাকা বাসীরও মন খারাপ। এই উরস উৎসব উপলক্ষ্যে এলাকায় বিশাল মেলা বসে, এলাকার ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্যে জোয়ার আসে, সমস্ত হোটেল এক সপ্তাহ আগে থেকেই ভর্তি হয়ে যায়। অনেক স্থানীয় মানুষ নিজেদের ঘর ভাড়া দেন। তাই সবার মনে আশা ও মওলা পাকের কাছে আকুল প্রার্থনা আগামী বছর যেন করোনা মুক্ত পরিবেশে এই উরস উৎসব আবার জমজমাট হয়ে ওঠে। পাপী -তাপী-অসহায় মানুষের আশ্রয় স্থল মওলা পাকের কদম পাকে সবাই যেন নির্বিঘ্নে এসে পৌঁছাতে পারে।
